Disney+ Expands French Content with Groupe M6 Partnership
The Walt Disney Company's French subsidiary has expanded its collaboration with Groupe M6 through a new broadcasting agreement. The deal brings four popular French TV shows to Disney+ starting September 25, including 'Scènes de ménages' and 'En Famille.' These programs will be available exclusively on the streaming platform, allowing Disney+ to strengthen its content offering in France.
The collaboration between Disney and M6 has been ongoing for 30 years, with both companies sharing Disney movies, Pixar films, and series from 20th Century Television and ABC on M6's channels. By combining traditional broadcasting with streaming, the two companies are experimenting with new approaches to cater to evolving viewing habits.
The expansion of this partnership will help Groupe M6 consolidate its audience, particularly among younger viewers aged 15-34 who are increasingly engaged with Disney+. The deal is seen as a natural choice for M6, given the strong popularity of their programs among French audiences.
