Disney Eyes Multi-Billion Dollar Deals with Comcast and Time Warner Cable
The Walt Disney Company is close to striking new deals with two major cable TV operators. Under the agreements, Disney could collect billions of dollars by supplying content, including its popular ESPN sports channel, to Comcast Corp. and Time Warner Cable.
According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, Disney's stake in E! Entertainment Television could be sold for about $1.2 billion as part of these deals. Philadelphia-based Comcast is reportedly interested in buying Disney's 39.5% stake in E!
The agreements would provide significant revenue for Disney, but details on the exact terms and conditions are not yet available.
