Disney Filmmakers Bring Childhood Dreams to Life in Theme Parks
A new documentary series on Disney+ explores how filmmakers translate their movies into theme park experiences. 'Disney Worldbuilders' is a 60-minute film that delves into the childhoods of several storytellers and takes viewers behind the scenes of Disney's theme parks.
The documentary, directed by Leslie Iwerks, features interviews with filmmakers such as Bob Iger, Pete Docter, Jennifer Lee, and Jared Bush. These creatives share their experiences and reactions to seeing their movies come to life in the parks.
Pete Docter, chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios, credits Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride for sparking his imagination. He recalls conceptualizing a door factory concept that was eventually turned into a theme park attraction.
