Disney Games: A New Chapter in Interactive Storytelling
The Walt Disney Company is expanding its storytelling legacy through interactive experiences, giving fans the chance to become active participants in their favorite stories. With Disney Games as part of the Disney Entertainment segment, games are increasingly serving as both a powerful storytelling medium and an entry point for new audiences to discover Disney's characters, worlds, and franchises.
Disney Games has driven an estimated $3.5 billion in consumer spend annually for the past four years, crossing $4 billion this past fiscal year. The company is focusing on original interactive experiences designed specifically for gaming, rather than merely retelling or extending films or series.
The Disney Games Group portfolio spans nine billion-dollar franchises, including Kingdom Hearts and Marvel's Strike Force, with more than half emerging in the last 12 years. The strategy extends across Disney's portfolio, with Lucasfilm Games spanning over 20 genres across every major platform, and the Disney & Pixar Games mobile portfolio reaching over 1 billion installs since 2014.
