Disney+ Greenlights New Pokémon Stop-Motion Series with Aardman
Disney+ has greenlit a new stop-motion Pokémon series titled 'Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu' as part of a global distribution deal with The Pokémon Company International. The series will debut on Disney XD and stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2027.
Aardman, the animation studio behind the new show, is known for its signature stop-motion artistry, which brings a unique perspective to this beloved world. The series follows Sirfetch’d and Pichu as they embark on an epic journey through the Galar Region, helping and protecting Pokémon along the way.
The deal also includes the classic animated series 'Pokémon the Series: The Beginning,' which is now streaming on Disney+ and airs on Disney XD. This marks a significant addition to Disney's offerings for both longtime fans and young audiences.
