Disney Imagineering Unveils New Details on Resort and Park Projects

Disney Imagineering has been making waves in the world of theme park design. Recently, they shared new details about three upcoming projects at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. One of these projects is Lakeshore Lodge, a brand-new resort coming to Disney World.

The Imagineers gave fans a first look at the giant otters that will be installed in the resort's splash pad, Otter Springs. These otters are themed after Pocahontas and are designed to look like they're made of wood, although they're actually made of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Panels). The focus was on making the design look like it was built from scratch.

Disney Imagineering also shared a behind-the-scenes look at Magic of Disney Animation, which will be coming to Walt Disney Studios area at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The entrance is inspired by Disney's Once Upon a Studio short and features classic characters welcoming guests inside.

The third project is an expansion at Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. Imagineering focused on making a seamless transition from one land to another, using textures and colors to make the new walkway look like it belongs in both Marvel-themed and Pixar-themed areas.
