Disney Installs New Safety Warnings for Tiana's Bayou Adventure After Rider Incident

Disney has taken additional safety measures around its Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction at Disneyland following a frightening incident involving a young guest. A 13-year-old teenager climbed out of a ride vehicle in June and fell down the attraction's roughly 50-foot drop, but fortunately did not suffer serious injuries.

The new signs installed by Disney remind guests to remain seated while riding and warn that failing to do so can result in removal from the park. This change is significant because it explicitly spells out the consequences of ignoring the rule, making it harder for guests to overlook.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disneyland has been outfitted with 12 new signs throughout its queue, with some using written instructions and others relying on diagrams to communicate the message. The attraction shares similar characteristics with its Magic Kingdom counterpart in Florida, which has raised concerns about potential similarities in rider behavior.

While Disney has not confirmed identical changes for the Magic Kingdom version of Tiana's Bayou Adventure, it would be logical for Walt Disney World to follow Disneyland's lead and adopt a similar approach. This would involve placing new signs throughout the queue at Magic Kingdom, giving guests several reminders before they reach the loading area.
