Disney Introduces Employee Stock Purchase Plan Amid Health Insurance Overhaul
The Walt Disney Company is revamping its employee benefits package with two significant changes. An Employee Stock Purchase Plan will be introduced to eligible employees, pending approvals, allowing them to purchase Disney stock and build company ownership.
This move may aim to boost morale after several rounds of layoffs by providing employees an opportunity to increase their earnings without receiving raises.
The plan's details are still being finalized, including eligibility criteria. The introduction of the Employee Stock Purchase Plan is expected in 2027.
Additionally, Disney will change its health insurance plans next year. Unlike previous years, employees' current coverage will not automatically roll over. Most employees will need to actively choose their new plan and re-enroll any dependents for 2027.
