Disney officials have issued an unexpected warning to guests at EPCOT area resorts. The notice, posted on Tuesday evening, September 1st, warns that overnight fireworks testing may interrupt a peaceful night's sleep.
The window for the testing runs from 10:00pm on Tuesday through 1:30am on Wednesday, with guests staying near World Showcase Lagoon most likely to hear the sporadic noise. Disney characterizes the activity as routine, part of the process to keep EPCOT's fireworks shows running safely and smoothly.
Guests at resorts like Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin should be prepared for possible late-night noise. Those staying further from EPCOT are less likely to notice much, although sound can occasionally carry further than expected due to wind direction.
