The Kingdom Hearts series has reached a significant milestone by becoming one of nine gaming franchises at Disney to reach $1 billion in sales. With this success and the recent announcement of a Kingdom Hearts TV show for Disney+, fans are wondering if a movie could be next.
Jared Bush, Walt Disney Animation Studios boss, was asked about the possibility of a Kingdom Hearts movie during an interview with IGN. He responded by saying 'nothing is impossible' when it comes to new projects and ways of putting material out into the world.
Bush has had success in various roles at Disney, including co-writing and co-directing Zootopia and its sequel, as well as co-directing Encanto and writing the screenplay for Moana. He currently holds the position of chief creative officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios, a role he's held since 2024.
