Disney Legend Joins Ariana Grande's Tower of Terror Defense

Ariana Grande's impassioned defense of Disney World's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride has gained another high-profile supporter. Legendary former Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde, who spearheaded the design of Disneyland's Animal Kingdom theme park and revamped the Disneyland Resort's Tower of Terror into a Guardians of the Galaxy ride in 2017, agrees with Grande that the ride is a 'masterpiece'.

Rohde, an inducted Disney Legend, made his comments to Entertainment Weekly at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. He emphasized that he never heard company leadership express interest in revamping the Orlando ride's theme during his tenure with Disney.

'I think Ariana is right. It is a masterpiece,' Rohde said of the Florida Tower of Terror, calling it 'the epitome of Towers of Terror'. The ride has been replicated and revamped at various Disney parks around the world since its opening in 1994.
