Kim Irvine is a legendary Imagineer who spent over five decades working on Walt Disney's original magic kingdom, Disneyland. She retired in 2025 during its 70th-anniversary year and left behind a lasting legacy of creativity and high standards across Disney Parks globally.
Kim began her journey with WED Enterprises in 1970 as a model builder and painter, where she worked on various projects including the 'it's a small world' dolls and toys. She then mentored under John Hench, who taught her about color application to architecture.
In 1979, Kim led an onsite team at Disneyland, focusing on its design direction. Her leadership won out as she was instrumental in designing various attractions, restaurants, and refurbishments within the park.
