Disney Legends Clements and Musker Celebrate The Great Mouse Detective's 40th Anniversary

Ron Clements and John Musker, the directors behind some of Disney's most beloved classics, will be discussing their 1986 film 'The Great Mouse Detective' at the LightBox Expo. The panel is part of a celebration marking the film's 40th anniversary.

The movie unofficially launched the second golden age of Walt Disney Animation and paved the way for the Disney Renaissance. Clements and Musker will share behind-the-scenes stories, creative insights, and reflections on their enduring legacy.

'The Great Mouse Detective' follows a mouse detective who lives in the same flat as Sherlock Holmes and helps solve a mystery involving Ratigan, voiced by Vincent Price. The film was based on the 'Basil of Baker Street' book series written by Eve Titus and illustrated by Paul Galdone.

Clements and Musker have had successful careers with Disney, directing films such as 'The Little Mermaid', 'Aladdin', 'Hercules', 'Treasure Planet', and 'Moana'. Their latest projects include Clements' advisory role at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Musker's jazzy short film 'I'm Hip', which he animated by hand.
