Disney Monorail Stalls After Lightning Strike Leaves Guests Stranded
A Walt Disney World monorail suffered a power outage on September 8th after being struck by lightning, leaving passengers stranded for approximately 90 minutes.
The EPCOT-bound train was traveling between the Transportation and Ticket Center and EPCOT when it lost power, forcing guests to wait inside until crews could move it to a station.
A passenger named Tanya documented the incident on social media, stating that lightning had knocked out power along the route. However, Disney did not confirm whether the outage was caused by a direct lightning strike.
Passengers were stuck on the train without air conditioning for over an hour, but they managed to ventilate their cars by removing window panels. Despite the inconvenience, no injuries were reported.
