A severe thunderstorm caused an EPCOT-bound monorail to lose power and strand passengers for approximately 90 minutes on September 8th at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

The monorail was traveling between the Transportation and Ticket Center and EPCOT when lightning reportedly disrupted the system. According to passenger Tanya, who documented the incident on social media, the power outage disabled the air conditioning, causing uncomfortable conditions inside the train's enclosed cars.

To increase ventilation, passengers were instructed to remove window panels while they waited for crews to move the train to a station. The delay lasted around 90 minutes before Disney employees resolved the issue and allowed guests to exit.
