Disney Names Jerry Bruckheimer a Legend

Jerry Bruckheimer has been named a Disney Legend for his contributions to the company's film industry. This honor is part of the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, which celebrates icons who have made a lasting impact on Disney.

Bruckheimer was asked about what it means to be honored as a Disney Legend and replied, 'It’s amazing. Given the long history of Disney, and my relationship with it, and the kind of entertainment they have made for so many decades, it’s really quite the honor.'

He also reflected on his experience producing The Curse of the Black Pearl, which launched the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. 'The conventional wisdom at the time was, “How can you make a movie about a theme park ride?”' Bruckheimer said.
