Disney Names Melissa Stone Senior Vice President of Publicity

Melissa Stone has been appointed as the new Senior Vice President of Publicity at The Walt Disney Studios.

In her new role, Stone will oversee global PR strategy across Disney's theatrical outlets, including live-action films and TV shows from studios such as Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios.

With over two decades of experience in publicity, Stone joins Disney from 20th Century Studios (formerly 20th Century Fox), where she held the position of Vice President, Global Publicity. She will report to Martha Morrison, President of Studios Marketing.

Stone's extensive background includes working on various high-profile projects such as Avatar and Planet of the Apes films, live-action versions of Lilo & Stitch and The Little Mermaid, Barbarian, Ford v. Ferrari, and West Side Story, as well as Disney+ series like Andor.

Morrison expressed her enthusiasm for Stone's appointment, stating that she brings 'exceptional publicity experience' and a proven track record in leading campaigns that drive both audience engagement and cultural impact.'
