Disney has ordered a pilot for a television series based on its iconic EPCOT attraction, Spaceship Earth. The show will be written by Jason Fuchs and Michael Waldron, who are also executive producing via their respective companies. The logline for the pilot states that it will follow a group of teenagers from different time periods as they join forces to confront a global threat.

The project is one of several theme park-based adaptations currently in development at Disney+, including films and shows based on Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and Tomorrowland. However, some critics have questioned whether these projects are truly necessary, arguing that they may be driven by a desire for name recognition rather than genuine creative vision.

Fuchs has previously worked on theme park adaptations, including a pilot for ABC's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride. Waldron is best known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly his development of the Disney+ series Loki and his writing credits on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
