Disney Parks Get a Storytelling Upgrade
Walt Disney Imagineering is pushing the boundaries of theme park design with its innovative approach to architecture, dubbed 'Disney Parkitecture.'
This concept emphasizes storytelling through environments, using every detail, from building materials and scale to placement and sightlines, to create immersive experiences that transport guests into fictional worlds.
In a recent episode of We Call It Imagineering, the team shares behind-the-scenes insights into several projects currently under construction at Walt Disney World, including Piston Peak National Park, Villains Land, Monstropolis, Tropical Americas, and Disney's Lakeshore Lodge.
Imagineers are using balloon tests to study how new structures will impact sightlines in Magic Kingdom. For example, balloons were raised above the construction areas for Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land, allowing project teams to evaluate potential intrusions from other parts of the park.
