Disney+ Partners with Pokémon for New Stop-Motion Series
The Walt Disney Company and The Pokémon Company have formed an agreement to bring new content to fans worldwide. One of the key projects is 'Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu', a stop-motion series created by animation studio Aardman. This show will exclusively stream on Disney+ in 2027 and air on Disney XD globally.
The series follows Sirfetch'd and Pichu as they travel through the Galar region, helping and protecting Pokémon along the way. Their adventures often don't go according to plan, but their noble deeds build a strong friendship between them. The duo faces various challenges, rivalries, and laughs together.
Aardman's signature stop-motion artistry brings a fresh perspective to the beloved world of Pokémon. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Kids & Family, said 'Pokémon has that rare ability to mean something to longtime fans while continuing to feel completely relevant to young audiences today.'
