Disney Pin Collectors Go to Great Lengths for D23's Rarest Items
Disney pin collectors from around the world flocked to D23 in Anaheim, California, this week. The rarest items were highly sought after and often sold out quickly.
Kyle Liddane, a Portland resident, traveled across the country to collect the coveted pins. He has been collecting for 10 years and was determined to get his hands on some of the limited-edition pins at Mickey's of Glendale and the Hollywood Studio store.
'They have really nice-quality pins that are very sought after, they've very limited edition,' Liddane said.
The D23 pin-trading program has been a hit since its launch in the 1990s. The exclusive collectibles have created a global community of traders and collectors. Some fans even make it a full-time job, as evidenced by Lauren Vogt's pin board creations and trading activities.
