Disney Removes Checkout Counter from Hollywood Studios Gift Shop
Walt Disney World Resort is making changes to its Hollywood Studios theme park. A familiar checkout counter has disappeared from Celebrity 5 & 10, a gift shop on Hollywood Boulevard. The refurbishment of the shop is ongoing and includes new flooring throughout the location.
The missing cash register may not be coming back at all. Instead, new beige, black, green, and blue tiles have been installed in a square pattern, replacing the previous gray, black, and rust-colored design. A golden outlet cover has been installed on the floor where the old register once stood, suggesting that a permanent checkout counter won't return.
However, Disney could still bring in a temporary cashout station during holidays or other high-traffic periods. Both The Darkroom and Celebrity 5 & 10 remain open and fully operational, selling Disney Trading Pins, housewares, Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears, and other merchandise.
