Disney Renews Wonder Man, Then Abruptly Cancels It
In March 2026, Disney renewed Wonder Man for its second season, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement. But just three months later, Marvel Studios made an abrupt U-turn and canceled the show without explanation.
Showrunner and co-creator Andrew Guest expressed his confusion and disappointment in a video addressing fan concerns. He revealed that contracts had been signed with all the stars, schedules were cleared, and production was set to begin early next year.
The writers' room was even ready to start working on the second season at the time of cancellation. Guest had written the first episode and had an outline for the rest of the season. He stressed that everyone involved felt 'really good' about the plan for Wonder Man season two.
Despite this, Disney/Marvel Studios made a decision to cancel the show without giving any clear reason or explanation. Guest stated that he wasn't privy to any 'numbers' and couldn't explain why the cancellation occurred.
