Disney Replaces Tabasco with Tapatío at Pecos Bill Cafe Amidst Frontierland Overhaul
The Walt Disney World resort has made another subtle change to its Magic Kingdom theme park. In a move that reflects broader condiment changes across Disney properties, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Frontierland is now offering Tapatío hot sauce instead of Tabasco. This change follows the recent appearance of Tapatío at ABC Commissary in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The swap to Tapatío is notable as it marks a shift from Tabasco Original Red Sauce, which has a distinct vinegar-forward flavor profile. In contrast, Tapatío includes red peppers alongside water, garlic, spices, and other ingredients, resulting in a thicker sauce with a different taste experience.
This change comes during an exciting time for Magic Kingdom's Frontierland area, as it undergoes significant transformations. The Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Belle Riverboat are being permanently closed to make way for Piston Peak National Park, a new environment inspired by the American wilderness and Cars.
Additionally, Disney Villains Land is on the horizon for this section of the park, featuring two major attractions, dining options, shopping experiences, and an immersive environment centered around some of the company's most famous villains. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has also recently reopened after a lengthy refurbishment that brought back Rainbow Caverns.
