Disney Reveals Exciting Updates to Walt Disney World Parks

Disney has announced several updates to its Walt Disney World parks at the D23 fan event. The Magic Kingdom will be getting a 'Villains Land' and a 'Cars'-themed area, along with updates to the Carousel of Progress.

The Carousel of Progress is undergoing a refurbishment to introduce four new decades and a new scene featuring the first-ever Florida-based Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure in late spring 2027. The beloved matriarch and patriarch of the Carousel of Progress family, Sarah and John, will be voiced by Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis and award-winning actor Bryan Cranston.

The 'Cars' area, located where the now-closed Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island were, will feature two attractions: 'Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along' and 'Cars Ridge Run Rally.' The former features a giant school bus Audio-Animatronics figure hosting her wildest derby yet, while the latter takes place up and down snow-capped Piston Peak and through a geyser field.

Animal Kingdom is replacing Dinoland U.S.A. with a 'Tropical Americas' land, which will house three new attractions: El Carrusel de los Animalitos, Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, and Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.
