Disney Revises College Internship Requirements Amid Alumni Backlash
The Disney College Program is a semester-long internship for current and recently graduated university students. Walt Disney World now welcomes applicants for the spring 2027 semester, with some changes to eligibility requirements.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States or its territories, and actively working toward an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Graduate degree. They also must have completed at least one term at their college or university (or a minimum of 6 credit hours) towards their degree.
In a change for the spring 2027 semester, if applicants have already graduated college, they must have done so no more than 12 months before the application launch date. This is a return to a previous policy Disney held for years and marks a shift from allowing applicants who graduated up to 24 months before the application launch date.
Disney also offers a specialized spring 2027 Disney College Program role, as a Premium Services VIP Tour Support cast member, exclusively to alumni of previous College Programs or cast members currently enrolled in a College Program. The new role would involve providing ancillary support to tour guides across Walt Disney World.
