Disney's 'Oswald the Lucky Rabbit' Miniseries Gets February Release Date
Oswald, one of Disney's earliest characters who predates Mickey Mouse, is back in the spotlight. The live-action combined with hand-drawn 2D animation series, written and directed by Jon Favreau, will premiere on Disney+ as a three-part miniseries in February 2027.
The cast includes Amy Sedaris, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Martin, Al Madrigal, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Ryder Allen. Oswald was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks for Universal Pictures in 1927 and later reacquired by Disney in 2006.
The character has largely been absent from pop culture and Disney titles, but made a few appearances in recent years, including the 2010 video game 'Epic Mickey' and the 2013 animated short 'Get a Horse!'
