Disney Roars Back with Record Box Office Haul and Strong Theme Park Sales
Disney reported a solid third quarter, driven by a $1 billion box office haul from 'Toy Story 5' and strong draw of its U.S. theme parks.
The company's Experiences division, which includes Disney's six global theme parks, cruise line, merchandise, and video game licensing, saw operating income climb 20% to $3.02 billion and revenue total $9.97 billion.
Operating income rose 27% at domestic parks, while operating income declined 13% for international parks and Experiences.
The company's strong performance was also aided by summer promotions and new experiences offered at its U.S. theme parks, which saw a 3% increase in attendance from the previous year.
