Disney Rolls Out AI-Powered Discovery Features on Disney Plus and ESPN App
The Walt Disney Company is rolling out an AI-powered discovery feature in its popular streaming service, Disney Plus. This new feature allows users to search for TV shows and movies using natural language, similar to how they would interact with a personal assistant.
The AI search bar will appear at the top of the Disney Plus app's home page on TVs, providing a row of prompts to help users find what they're looking for. Users can either type in their preferences or use voice input to describe what they want to watch next.
This new feature is designed to give viewers more control over what they watch, rather than relying solely on their viewing history. Disney Plus subscribers can already search for specific movies and TV shows within the app, but this AI-powered tool takes it a step further by providing a long list of options based on users' descriptions.
In addition to Disney Plus, The Walt Disney Company is also introducing an AI search feature in its ESPN mobile app. This new feature allows users to ask sports-related questions and receive stats, news stories, videos, and other information from ESPN's content catalog.
