Disney Sets Coco Sequel Release Date for November 2029
Disney's highly anticipated sequel to the beloved animated film 'Coco' is set to hit theaters in November 2029. The studio made the announcement at its D23 fan event, where actor Benjamin Bratt revealed he will reprise his role as Ernesto de la Cruz in the sequel.
The new film will follow lead character Miguel as a teenager and see him on an adventure back to the Land of the Dead, with Ernesto de la Cruz seeking revenge. The creative team from the original film, including director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina, are set to return for the sequel.
The original 'Coco' film was released in 2017 and went on to win two Academy Awards for best animated feature and best original song. Disney is also planning a 'Coco' attraction that will come to Disney California Adventure.
