Disney Settles Antitrust Lawsuit for $50 Million Over Expensive Channel Bundles

The Walt Disney Company has agreed to settle an antitrust lawsuit for $50 million. The lawsuit, filed in 2022, alleged that Disney used its ownership of ESPN to force streaming services into expensive channel bundles.

The settlement covers YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream subscribers who had active subscriptions between April 1, 2019, and March 31, 2026. Individual payments will depend on how long you subscribed and how many total claims are filed.

To be eligible for a payout, subscribers must have bought a subscription to either YouTube TV or DirecTV, or both, during the specified period. DirecTV subscriptions might have been called DirecTV Stream, DirecTV Now, or AT&T TV Now.
