The Walt Disney Company's share price has declined by 41% over the past five years, but its valuation is now at a multiyear low. The company's leadership team believes that the stock is undervalued and has continued to repurchase shares.

In the third quarter of fiscal 2026, Disney reported revenue from theme park admissions up 3%, with operating income rising 20%. Its direct-to-consumer streaming operations saw a notable financial catalyst, with revenue increasing 11% year over year. The company's success at the movie theater also stands out, with Toy Story 5 now exceeding $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue.

Disney generated $3.1 billion in free cash flow during the third quarter, and plans to spend at least $9 billion on share repurchases this fiscal year. This is a significant increase from nine years ago, when Disney bought back $9.4 billion worth of its stock.

The company's shares trade at a price-to-earnings ratio of 16.8, which represents a 33% discount to the overall S&P 500 index. Despite this, analysts expect double-digit adjusted earnings-per-share growth in fiscal 2027 and 2028.
