Disney Skyliner Closes Again: Guests Face Bus Loop Delays in January 2028

The Walt Disney World Skyliner gondola system will be closed for maintenance from January 24 to February 2, 2028. This marks the third consecutive year that the system will be shut down during this time period, following closures in 2026 and 2027.

During the closure, guests staying at nearby resorts such as Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Pop Century Resort can expect complimentary bus service to replace gondola transportation. This means that visitors will need to plan extra time for their journey between these resorts and EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The closure has become a regular occurrence, with Disney treating this window as a standing maintenance slot rather than a one-off event. As such, it is not surprising to see the system shut down again in 2029.
