Disney Springs Welcomes Six Ravens, a Savory Sister to Gideon's Bakehouse
Six Ravens, the new sister concept from Gideon's Bakehouse founder Steve Lewis, is now open at Disney Springs. The restaurant soft opened on Monday, August 3, just a few storefronts away from its wildly popular predecessor. Unlike Gideon's focus on massive cookies and decadent cakes, Six Ravens heads in a different direction with a menu centered around savory comfort food and local partnerships.
The centerpiece of the menu is something called coffyns - essentially stuffed yeast-roll sandwiches filled with various savory ingredients. Lewis told the Orlando Sentinel that the idea has been years in the making, inspired by his childhood love for Quincy's Family SteakHouse's big, fat yeast roll.
Six Ravens sets itself apart from other restaurants through its focus on supporting local businesses. Rather than creating every menu item entirely in-house, the restaurant is partnering with several well-known Central Florida favorites, including Red Panda Noodle and Papi's Burritos. This approach not only encourages guests to discover more of Orlando's food scene but also incentivizes them to visit and sample local fare.
Although the menu leans savory, dessert hasn't been forgotten. Opening day will feature a single sweet offering called The Tart's Tempest, a chocolate chip tart filled with rich chocolate fudge and topped with fresh raspberry jam. Lewis says more desserts, including collaborations with local bakeries, are already in the works.
