Disney Stays the Course on Abu Dhabi Theme Park Project
The Walt Disney Company's Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston addressed questions about the company's Abu Dhabi theme park project during its recent earnings call. The project, which is a collaboration with Miral, an Abu Dhabi company that creates destinations and experiences, has been in development for over a year.
Johnston stated that the Abu Dhabi theme park will be designed with a long-term view and that Disney remains committed to seeing the project through. He added that it will combine Disney's iconic stories, characters, and attractions with Abu Dhabi's vibrant culture, stunning shorelines, and breathtaking architecture.
The project is expected to be located on Yas Island on the waterfront and will mark Disney's seventh landmark theme park in collaboration with Miral. Despite concerns over rising fuel costs and Middle East conflicts, Johnston expressed confidence in the project's potential for success.
