Disney Studios Promotes Melissa Stone to SVP of Publicity

The Walt Disney Studios has promoted Melissa Stone to Senior Vice President of Publicity. In her new role, Stone will oversee the global PR strategy for several production labels, including Disney Live Action, Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios, as well as Disney+. She will report directly to Martha Morrison, President of Studios Marketing.

Stone brings over two decades of experience in publicity, with a focus on blockbusters and awards contenders. Her credits include campaigns for films like Avatar: The Way of Water, Lilo & Stitch, and The Martian, as well as Disney+ titles such as Lucasfilm's Emmy-winning Andor.

Morrison praised Stone's skills, saying she 'brings more than two decades of exceptional publicity experience, a deep network of talent and media relationships, and a proven ability to lead campaigns that drive both audience engagement and cultural impact.'
