Disney Sued by Former Child Actress Over Alleged Sex Abuse
Raquel Lee Bolleau, a former child actress who worked on several Disney productions, has filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company alleging she was sexually abused and assaulted by an unnamed middle-aged male employee while filming the 2001 Disney Channel original movie The Poof Point at age 14.
Bolleau claims the employee provided her with alcohol before assaulting her multiple times in his hotel room during production in Salt Lake City, as well as during a return flight to Los Angeles. She also alleges that an assault occurred within earshot of several staff members.
The lawsuit further claims that Disney failed to intervene despite circumstances that should have raised concerns about her safety. Bolleau's guardian was allegedly kept away from her for much of the day, and she was left without proper supervision.
Bolleau is seeking compensation for alleged financial losses and emotional distress, as well as punitive damages, attorneys' fees, and other related costs.
