Disney Sued by Former Child Star Over Alleged On-Set Abuse
Former child star Raquel Lee has filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney Company, accusing them of negligence and alleged on-set sexual abuse during filming of the 2001 Disney Channel movie 'The Poof Point'.
Lee was just 14 years old at the time of filming and claims that a middle-aged male Disney employee gave her alcohol and sexually assaulted her multiple times. The incidents allegedly took place both on set in Salt Lake City and on a flight back to California.
The lawsuit states that production separated Lee from her guardian and failed to provide adequate supervision, allowing the abuse to occur.
Lee's complaint also alleges that after the alleged abuse, Disney executives blamed her for her deteriorating performance instead of investigating the claims. As a result, they canceled her upcoming role.
