Disney Sued Over Alleged Negligence and Abuse of Former Child Star Raquel Lee

Former Disney child star Raquel Lee has filed a lawsuit against the entertainment giant alleging negligence and abuse while filming the 2001 Disney Channel Original Movie, The Poof Point.

Lee, who was just 14 during production, claims that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by an unnamed male crew member. According to her complaint, the employee would whisper sexually explicit remarks into her ear, make comments about her body, and use physical contact to get close to her.

The lawsuit alleges that Disney failed to protect Lee from this abuse, despite warning signs being visible throughout the production. The employee allegedly made sexual jokes around minors and harassed Lee in plain view of the cast and crew, with some comments even being heard by technicians monitoring the actors' microphones.

Disney executives responded to Lee's subsequent behavioral changes by calling her 'out of control,' saying she 'need[ed] Jesus' and had 'a demon inside her.' The company also accused the 14-year-old of engaging in sexual activity with a crew member and canceled her role in another planned production.
