Disney Surpasses $4 Billion at Box Office in Record-Breaking 2026
Disney's worldwide box office earnings have surpassed $4 billion in 2026, making it the second studio to reach this milestone. This achievement is all the more impressive considering that fall movie season has barely begun.
The studio's success can be attributed to a string of blockbuster films, including Toy Story 5, which grossed over $1 billion globally, and The Devil Wears Prada 2, which earned around $692 million worldwide. Other notable releases include Pixar's original film Hoppers, which brought in close to $390 million, and the live-action Moana, which contributed another $281 million to the total.
As fall approaches, Disney has announced a slate of upcoming films, including Cars 20th Anniversary, Oasis: Don't Look Back in Anger, and Avengers Endgame: Encore. These releases are expected to further boost the studio's earnings, potentially pushing its total past $4 billion.
The success of Disney at the box office has been a key factor in making 2026 one of the best years for the industry since before the pandemic. As the MCU prepares to release Avengers: Doomsday in December, it's possible that Disney will close out the year as the top-earning studio.
