Disney Taps TikTok Creators for Exclusive Vertical Videos
The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have announced a partnership that will allow creators to produce short-form videos using Disney's vast library of films and TV shows.
As part of the deal, Disney+ will feature a dedicated section called Verts, which will showcase these vertical-format videos. This marks the first time TikTok videos will be available on another platform.
The agreement covers content from Disney brands including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and FX. A pilot program is set to launch in the US in the coming months, with plans to expand to other markets.
Disney Chief Marketing and Brand Officer Asad Ayaz stated that 'The best storytellers are fans first,' highlighting the collaboration's focus on fan creativity. TikTok Global Head of Entertainment Dawn Yang added that the deal would bring 'authentic creator expression' to Disney+.
