Disney Taps TikTok for Short-Form Content Boost
Disney and TikTok have formed an agreement to share short-form videos across their platforms. This collaboration will bring TikTok creators' content to Disney+ while allowing them access to hundreds of Disney films and television shows.
The program is set to begin in the United States this month, with other markets expected to follow. Participating creators must opt-in before their videos can appear on both TikTok and Verts, Disney+'s short-form video feature.
This partnership gives Disney a new way to attract younger viewers and promote its streaming library through fan-created content. For TikTok, it expands creators' access to valuable intellectual property from major entertainment brands like Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and FX.
