Disney Taps TikTok's Younger Audience in New Creator-Focused Partnership
The Walt Disney Company has entered into a first-of-its-kind global partnership with TikTok, aiming to bring fans and creators together through memorable scenes and moments from Disney movies and shows. This collaboration will allow short-form videos from participating creators to live on both TikTok and the Verts section of Disney+ when it launches.
Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro recently spoke at the 2026 Goldman Sachs Communacopia and Technology Conference, where he shed light on the partnership's importance. According to D'Amaro, the TikTok collaboration will introduce a different type of consumer to Disney+, one who is younger and wants to interact with content rather than watching passively.
The partnership presents a 'top of the funnel' opportunity for Disney, drawing new consumers into the platform while building relationships with TikTok creators. With Disney+ introducing Verts, vertical short-form videos, earlier this year, the TikTok partnership makes sense from a business standpoint. As more people engage with short-form content, it's no wonder Disney is bringing it to Disney+ and partnering with a short-form platform like TikTok.
Disney hopes to bring even more fandom to the forefront, especially among younger users, through this partnership. The jointly-run Disney Creator Ambassador Program will enable best-in-class creators to unlock special rewards and provide them with increased visibility, access to exclusive events, and career development pathways.
