Disney Teams Up with Pokémon for New Stop-Motion Series

Disney has signed a global distribution deal with The Pokémon Company International to bring Pokémon content to its platforms. As part of this agreement, a new stop-motion series called Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu will debut on Disney XD and stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2027.

The series follows the adventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu as they travel through the Galar Region, helping and protecting Pokémon along the way. The show is being produced by Aardman animation, a renowned studio known for its stop-motion expertise.

Aardman's director Tom Parkinson stated that the team combined character, comedy, storytelling, and craftsmanship to create the new series, which promises 'peril, alliances, rivalries, extraordinary Pokémon, and endless laughs.'
