Disney Teams with TikTok for Creator-Driven Content Partnership
The Walt Disney Company has announced a new partnership with TikTok that will allow social media creators to use Disney characters in their videos. The deal, which was revealed on Wednesday, will give TikTok creators access to memorable scenes and moments from Disney movies and shows.
According to Disney, the content will feature characters and stories from across its brands, including Pixar, Marvel, 'Star Wars,' FX, and more. Fans will be able to use these assets to create short-form videos on TikTok that will also appear on Verts, a new vertical video feed on Disney+.
Asad Ayaz, chief marketing and brand officer at The Walt Disney Company, celebrated the deal, saying 'The best storytellers are fans first.' He added that the collaboration creates a new bridge between the stories Disney tells and the creativity they inspire.
Dawn Yang, TikTok's global head of entertainment, also weighed in on the partnership, stating that it brings 'the authentic creator expression of the TikTok community to Disney+.'
