Disney Tears Down Iconic Westward Ho Refreshment Stand for New Cars-Themed Area
Disney is making significant changes to its Magic Kingdom theme park in Florida. One of the most notable transformations is happening in Frontierland, where a long-standing refreshment stand called Westward Ho has been completely removed after 54 years.
The small location served as a quick snack and drink spot, offering items such as mini corn dogs and frozen lemonade. It was a familiar sight for many guests who visited the park over the years.
However, with Disney's plans to create a new Cars-inspired addition called Piston Peak National Park, several areas in Frontierland are being cleared to make way for the massive project.
The removal of Westward Ho is part of a larger effort to fundamentally reshape this side of Magic Kingdom. The new area will feature mountains, forests, waterfalls, rivers, geysers, trails, a visitor lodge, and Ranger HQ, all inspired by America's national parks.
