Disney+ Transforms into Centralized Hub for All Things Disney
The Walt Disney Company is making significant changes to its streaming service, Disney+, as it aims to become a centralized hub for all things Disney. With over seven years of operation under its belt, Disney wants to leverage Disney+ as a launching point for subscribers connecting with the Disney brand in other ways beyond watching movies and series.
According to CEO Josh D'Amaro, Disney is 'the only entertainment company with the global scale in both the physical and digital worlds.' This unique position will play a crucial role in the company's plans to integrate new features that signal a big-picture shift in how subscribers use Disney+.
One of these changes includes partnering with TikTok creators to bring vertical videos, or 'Verts,' to Disney+. This move is aimed at keeping users on the platform longer and providing a new bridge between the stories told by Disney and the creativity they inspire.
