Disney TV Legend Jim Geoghan Passes Away at 79

Jim Geoghan, a Disney TV veteran and co-creator of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, has passed away at the age of 79. He died on September 6, 2026, after working in the entertainment industry for over four decades.

Geoghan's career started with comedy in the 1970s, performing with the New York comedy trio Divided We Stand and later moving to Los Angeles where he began working as a television writer in 1980. He wrote and produced several TV projects, including Silver Spoons and Family Matters.

Geoghan's most notable work was on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, which premiered on Disney Channel in March 2005 and ran for three seasons. The show followed the mischievous twins Zack and Cody Martin as they lived with their mother at the fictional Tipton Hotel. The series earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Children’s Program in 2007 and 2008, with Geoghan among the credited producers.
