Disney Unveils Ambitious Streaming Ecosystem Plan
The Walt Disney Company is repositioning its streaming service, Disney+, as a broader membership ecosystem that connects content to high-value benefits across various entertainment, sports, and consumer product offerings.
This strategy aims to deepen engagement, improve subscriber retention, create new market segments, and increase the platform's long-term addressable opportunity. Key elements of this strategy will be introduced in spring 2027, with a focus on improving the streaming experience through features such as search, discovery, personalization, and integration.
The company is also investing heavily in international content, aiming to triple its locally produced original series on Disney+ over the next three years. This expansion reflects Disney's goal of growing its subscriber base outside the United States without relying solely on globally recognized franchises.
