Disney Unveils Authentic Animator's Office Ahead of Hollywood Studios Opening
The Walt Disney Imagineering team has unveiled the animator's office inside The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This highly detailed space is set to open on September 14, offering a glimpse into the inner workings of Disney animation.
According to the WDI team, they took inspiration from real animators' desks at Disney Animation in California during the development process. They aimed to create an environment that feels lived-in rather than staged, and their attention to detail is evident throughout the space.
The animator's desk itself was saved from the original Animation Academy at Hollywood Studios, while a small building replica of the Feature Animation studio in Burbank, California, adds a touch of authenticity. Other items on display include ping pong balls gifted to the Feature Animation crew, a mirror sourced from a flea market by Dan Abraham, and a book collecting caricatures drawn by Disney animators.
The space also features various production materials and memorabilia, including a Mulan crew hat and a Hercules production jacket. These artifacts serve as a testament to the rich history of Disney animation and will likely delight fans of all ages.
